The Workshop area Welcome to The Forest Discovery Center Workshop! Artisans and craftspeople display and discuss woodworking skills and techniques in the live demonstration area workshop. Dan Diekhoff has developed his own style of marquetry. He designs his own patterns using small, intricate, naturally-colored wood pieces to complement his style. You'll be amazed at Dan's use of shadows (or spacing of the pieces) to bring depth and dimension to his creations. Dan's "Seasons in the Wood" is also the focal point for the Activity Area. Dan also has puzzles and games for the kids in his workshop. All commissioned artwork Dan creates is a joint effort between Dan and the customer to capture a theme or special purpose. Recent works include a magnificent 14' X 16' nature-themed piece for the University of Kentucky Children's Hospital.
