Inside the Koetter Wood plant.
A glass-enclosed skyway connects The Forest Discovery Center to Koetter Woodworking's state-of-the-art, manufacturing plant. Visitors explore the plant from a series of elevated catwalks and watch the manufacturing process first hand as unusable lumber enters one end of the building, before exiting the other end as some of the many products Koetter Woodworking manufactures.
The process includes planing the lumber, cutting for width on computerized rip saws, and chopping for length on high-tech equipment. Every bit of the log is used, including the sawdust and scrap that is burned to generate heat for the Koetter Woodworking dry kilns, where the plant can dry over one million board feet of wood per week. You'll marvel at the precision of the entire plant and the dedication of every employee to ensure only the highest quality materials leave the plant.
